Hamilton House Open Day

On Saturday, Hamilton House opened its doors to the public, allowing people to roam freely around the space and giving them a chance to see how its eclectic array of residents work.

Drawn in Bristol, and members of our studio have been busily preparing for the day by creating a display space and communal cafe, with delicious homemade cakes and savoury treats!

We've also started a little project where individual members of the studio have been hand-painting and decorating wooden stools, to add a splash of colour and creative touch to the space.  More images to follow!

Hannah Postlethwaite created a space to decorate your own biscuits!
Drawn in Bristol and studio members created an area for our one day pop-up shop, where the public could browse an exciting mix of handmade products.

Davy and Kristin McGuire had some spectacular paper and projection art on show

Dave Bain held a screen-printing workshop in the studio.  It was great to see people of all ages having a go at pulling a print, and seeing people walking around the building with their own version of the print.

Studio members Sophie Rae, Paula Bowles and Katharina Nyilas also ran workshops in the community arts space within the building:

Sophie Ray - Monoprinting with stencils.

Paula Bowles - Enchanting storytelling followed by a fun workshop creating your favourite characters.

Katharina Nyilas workshops - Make your own botanical mono printed card.
